Mercer Island

Equidistant from downtown Seattle and the Eastside—and free of those pesky tolls found in other locations—residents of Mercer Island enjoy its small-town atmosphere, close-knit community and some of the best schools in the state. Measuring just six square miles, the Island is comprised primarily of residences, though the quaint Town Center is home to small businesses that are filled with charm and character.

Medina

To drive through Medina is to gain first-hand experience in what a premier community affords its residents. Luxury is about far more than a price point; it’s about an experience, whether it’s teeing off at the golf course, an afternoon picnic at one of the many local parks or aquatic adventures atop Lake Washington’s waves. Though the tranquility and glimmering water views in Medina may make you feel miles away from it all, a short five-minute drive brings you into the hustle and bustle of downtown Bellevue, while the SR-520 floating bridge brings the Emerald City to your fingertips.

Bellevue

Home to a top-rated school district in Washington state, the growing Eastside tech corridor, and a vibrant mix of nouveau suburban and urban settings, it’s no surprise that Bellevue is consistently named on local and national lists as one of the best places to live and work. It’s neighborhoods provide a range of residential offerings, from the grand estates of Bridle Trails, Cougar Mountain, Somerset and Tam O’Shanter to the in-city penthouses of downtown Bellevue and unforgettable waterfront homes in West Bellevue enclaves such as Clyde Hill, Medina, Beaux Arts and Enatai.

Madison Park

Madison Park is one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods, as statuesque residences with winding driveways and mature landscapes give way to hidden estates nestled along the water that hearken to Seattle’s storied past. Charming streets are dotted with fabulous shops and restaurants that residents and visitors enjoy through every season, whether it’s underneath the warm summer sun or the twinkle of winter lights. When it’s hot outside, I love to flock to the shores of Madison Park Beach to relax on the sand or journey atop the waves, or walk to the Washington Park Arboretum and take in the splendor of the Japanese Gardens.

West Seattle

Just a five-minute commute from downtown Seattle on the bridge, West Seattle is most well-known for its sandy beaches, including the famed Alki Beach Park, which runs the 2.5 miles between Alki Point and the Duwamish Head. West Seattle is home to an eclectic mix of residents, in large part due to its range of neighborhoods, from the gorgeous Puget Sound views at Genessee and Admiral to the up-and-coming Highland Park and High Point communities, which are home to many new development projects. I often think of the West Seattle Bridge as a bit of a mind trick that makes “the island” feel a world away from the downtown core.

In recent years, the Emerald City has emerged on the global stage, growing more diverse—thanks in large part to the thriving technology industry—further cementing its reputation of culture and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Capitol Hill

Capitol Hill is a location that is near and dear to my heart because it’s where I came into the world! There’s nothing quite like the old tree-lined streets on the Hill, especially in the autumnal season when they’re is adorned in gold, red and yellow hues. Famous for its rainbow-colored crosswalks and thriving cultural scene, Capitol Hill is undergoing an exciting boom in the Pike/Pine corridor.
